Official and regulatory
- HM Land Registry – search the register, order title documents and read practice guides on ownership, boundaries and rentcharges.
- Stamp Duty Land Tax (GOV.UK) – current rates, reliefs and the official SDLT calculator for property in England.
- Land Transaction Tax (Welsh Revenue Authority) – the Welsh equivalent of stamp duty, with rates and guidance.
- Solicitors Regulation Authority register – check that a solicitor or law firm is regulated before you instruct them.
- Council for Licensed Conveyancers – the regulator for licensed conveyancers, with a register of licensed practices.
- Legal Ombudsman – independent complaints service if you are unhappy with how a conveyancer handled your matter.
